Here's The Place Where I Create the Uniquely Custom Made Wedding Garters

The Hand-Crafted Creations Design Studio

 

 

You can see my various shades of satin ribbon here and my sewing table in the background.  I have my table set up in front of the window so that I can enjoy the view as I work.  My studio is not a very large space to work with as I share the office studio with my husband.  So I have about 2/3's of it and he's got the rest.  It's probably about 200 Square feet for mine and 136 or so for him.  Working with my husband (two totally different companies) but sharing the space - is wonderful.  We have been blessed with the ability to work like this since 2006.  Being two "work at home parents" makes life so much better and not so lonely as it can be. 

 

 

I have to be very organized with my materials.  Therefore, one wall is complete storage from ceiling to floor.  Thank goodness for that or I would not be able to function.  The photo above is about half of the wall - it's where I store all my ribbons, laces and charm embellishments.  It's chock full of variety like racing checks, flames, skulls and lots of polkadots - something for everyone  here at HCC  ;)

More ribbons and material AND - lots of golden gift boxes... You see all those?  There are between 2 to 4 garters in EACH and EVERY box... They are takin up space and it's been a thorn in my side for years now.   You see... a couple years ago I went crazy making all kinds of designs.  Just playing around as I had some time in the slow season.   I planned to sell them as they were, but I came to find that my clients really didn't want to have pre-made garters.  Even if they were ordering one pretty much the same as the sample, they wanted to tweek things just a bit, thus making it a new creation..  SOOOO this brings me to my next blog that I will be posting. 

 

This coming week - not sure when - (but when I have some time)  I will be posting some pictures of garters that are in those boxes.  I am going to just GIVE THEM AWAY.   Just like at http://club.wedding-luv.com  I have given a few away.  But this is just a mass giveaway.  I am soooo sick and tired of looking at them there taking up valuable storage space on my wall.  I need that space for my custom order materials. 

 

Speaking of needing space... Last picture... it's the one corner that I have thrown a bunch of stuff as I have been reorganizing the studio today.   It's some of the last things that I just can't think of where to put... So it brought me to the point of saying I'm giving this stuff away and what ever doesn't go I will chuck into the trash. 

 

 

 SERIOUSLY  I am trashing most of the pre-made garters that aren't claimed so let your friends, co-workers, wedding planners etc... know - if they want one or more garters - they can have them.  If you want to re-sell them at craft fairs or what ever you do... I do NOT have time to deal with them.  I'm just too busy with custom orders.
