Memory Lane Monday ~ My First Wedding Creations

Wow - this post brings me back!  Back to a time when I was a sweet innocent Blushing DIY Bride.  (well I guess I'm exagerating here... I wasn't so sweet, not innocent at all and I only did 2 DIY projects... So I wouldn't exactly say I was any of those things totally.  But You got the idea... It was a long time ago  (about 16.5 years to be exact).

My Hubby (then Fiance) and I were living in Southern California.  A Place of beauty and majestic views...   I decided I wanted to make two special things.    My wedding Veil and My Cake topper.  Today I'll highlight my veil.  For some reason I wanted a poofy one - kind of like the old fashion style from years ago.
Not the crazy ones that had poofs that just popped out from a tiara, or anything like these samples below ha ha ha!

But one that had some lift on the top and then layed over on the way down.    I don't have any real good pix of the veil but I'll share the ones I have on hand.

The top of the veil had a pretty sequins flower design and then I sewed pink rose buds onto strings that hung on the left and right sides.  There was Lace that I sewed along the edge of one of the veil layers which went along the sides and bottom of the veil.

You can see the lace edge showing in the photo below.   It came out really pretty in person.  An one other thing I embellished my veil with was clear sequins sewn randomly  all over the outer layer.  This was to catch the light and make it sparkle while hardly seeing the actual sequins.

Well - that's it for today's "Trip Down Memmory Lane".   My First DIY wedding project I created in 1993.  My Wedding Veil.

Have a FABULOUSLY WONDERFUL DAY TODAY!
